I pretty much only wrote this story because when I was sixteen, I felt very out of place and wanted a way to express that. So, I wrote this story about an Angel and a Demon who fall in love. Originally, it was just a way for me to vent my feelings of isolation, but it has now turned into a proper story about being different than your peers and finding your people. Another one of the main conflicts is feeling out of place in a community/culture one was born in and being unable to control anything in one’s life.
Inspiration: Devil May Cry, Romeo and Juliet, Inuyasha, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Old Door.
Again, when I was in high school, I was dealing with every emotion known to man and had no friends to express these feelings to. Instead, I resorted to writing my feelings in the plot of a story. In this case, I spent all of my high school years writing this story. It details the feelings one has when the pressures of perfection are put on them. It's set in a fantasy world and everything that goes on in the story is related back to this conflict.
Inspiration: Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, The Legend of Zelda, Fire Emblem, Slayers.
This story is more recent than almost all the other titles on this list, but it's a romance about two people who both are trying to find their identity as a young adult. I also wrote this out of an urge to better represent anxiety as in most media, it showcases a very extreme and uncommon form of anxiety as the norm. (i.e. a serious panic attack as "normal" anxiety).
Inspiration: Spirited Away
I actually like being seen as Gen Z, but too often do people associate this generation as "sensitive snowflakes who think they're woke" when I've seen more people older than me get more upset at criticism about an opinion they have more than I ever have in my entire life. Outside of that, people my age also grew up in a time when the world was like the most chaotic ever (aka the early 2000s with war, school shootings, and the internet shivers). So a lot of us have dry humor and unhealthy coping mechanisms and I wanted to show the kind of personality this upbringing created or at the very least what it did to me. This story follows two kids who are attempting to overthrow the mass corruption at every level their city knows. Their high school, Holma High, is home to the very people in charge of the city and getting these leaders are at the forefront to turning things in their favor.
Inspiration: K: Project, Shifu, Bully, The Hunger Games, Game of Thrones, HunterxHunter, No. 6 (anime).
This is a prequel to The State of Quandary but both stories are in the exact same world, just a few years apart. This story follows the start of one of the main characters and how her relationships with the rest of the cast came to be. It also expands more on the world both these stories are in.
Inspiration: Every Godfather movie (no, I can't sit through those 3 hour movies, but I have parents who did watch them), John Wick, Persona 5, One Piece, Code Lyoko, Homestuck, Assassination Classroom (never watched it, but I understand the general concept and it's similar to what I wrote) and the other titles from The State of Quandary.
So far I only have four and a half of these stories completed, but they're all apart of a series I made when I realized 100k words is too long for a story as ridiculous as this one. It follows the adventures of two kids who have superhuman abilities and want to know is there anymore who are like them. It's also a satire on every superhero movie/show ever. The characters are purposeless outside of finding how they got their powers and are the complete opposite of the valiant hero. The story is very much a chaotic good.
Inspiration: One Punch Man, Codename: Kids Next Door, Ed, Edd, n' Eddy, The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, Tiger and Bunny, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Cute High Earth Defense Club Love, The Babymouse Books, Hetalia. I was also told one of my characters acts a lot like Homelander from The Boys. I've never watched it, but someone did tell me that, so I figured I'd mention it.
I wrote this around the same time I did The Demonic Repentance but they don't follow the same plot. In this story, a young man (like, he's sixteen) is an undercover cop who's meant to protect the police chief's daughter from any danger that may affect her. It was originally a romance, but I've reworked it and turned it more into just a young adult story with kids involved in something they shouldn't be.
Inspiration: Inuyasha, HunterxHunter, The Iron Giant, Blue Exorcist.
This is a love story I wrote because most love stories are kind of dry to me. This story was based entirely on the fact that I've been told I'm not a very romantic person. I kind of wanted to prove a point and wrote this story where a playboy college freshmen finesses his way into dating a shy high school senior. If I say more it might spoil a big chunk of the story, but this pair isn't exactly love struck with each other outwardly. They're more like best friends than lovers and it's made to be a romance I actually find interesting.
Inspiration: Say 'I Love you', Joujo Romantica, Seki-ichi Hatsukoi, Given (anime). A bunch of Yaoi inspired my heterosexual romance lol
As a kid in middle school, I had a lot of problems and one of them was a HUGE crush I had that overtook nearly all of my life. I can safely say, that guy is a very integral part of my elementary and middle school years and is the main base for most of my story's love interests. This story was mainly a way for me to cope with the feeling of isolation and longing when I was younger. It's about two kids who grow up feeling no one understands them better than the other while also experiencing the difficulties of loving someone at an early age. This is also the prequel to The Making of a Love Story.
Inspiration: Prince of Tennis (weird I know, but I promise it's not about the tennis part), Durarara!!, Ouran Host High School Club.
My high school years were something else because this is yet another story based almost entirely on my experiences in school. I actually had no friends growing up so I made this to cope with that feeling as well as showcase the types of complex emotions I was dealing with at the time. There's three main characters all with their own set of problems, but they all centralize around identity and coming of age. This story also has LGBTQ+ themes in it so if you don't like that, hey that's cool, but let's try and stay nice about it.
Inspiration: Spirited Away.
This is a story I only wrote because I watched Dakaretai Otoko-1ini Odosarete Imasu (Or simply Dakaichi). 100%. Even in my draft file, I wrote "a story about a dog dude and a cat dude" and if you know the show, you know why I wrote that. My story though follows the relationship between a high strung and borderline sadistic voice actor and a heart throb soft country boi who just also happens to be a voice actor. There's deeper themes in the story, but the main point is in their personal roadblocks that make the relationship hard to maintain
Inspiration: Actually just Dakaichi. I can pretty much say I ripped the show off.
This is suppose to be the earliest point in my world's history. A species known as Bumalians (human like with animal attributes) inhabit the earth and form a kingdom known as Bumalia. This kingdom is ruled by the most desired species, which are bird-folk. Their kingdom is peaceful even during a transition of power and even during the stirrup of a Lower Blood into the royal family. But a strange phenomenon starts to happen in which each generation of Bumalians have less and less features of their animal counterparts. Stirring up the kingdom over what is going on, the soon-to-be king recruits a newly appointed researcher to find out what's happening.
Inspiration: The Legend of Zelda, Xenoblade Chronicles, Fire Emblem, Princess and the Frog and pretty much every Disney Princess movie.
There was a point in my life where I actually hated everyone and everything, so in order to document that feeling, I wrote this story. This follows a young man as he deals with growing up and developing emotions he can't quite understand about the world around him. These feelings materialize into an alternative world where he experiences his emotions on a physical level and has to overcome them both within himself and outside in the world around him.
Inspiration: The Maze Runner, Ender's Game, The Secret World of Arrietty, Undertale.
This is an extension of One of Malevolence in that the two stories share a world and similar concept but aren't directly related. This is a dystopian, sci-fi fantasy story that follows two survivors of a strange event where the society as they knew suddenly ended. Again, I can't say too much as it may spoil major plot points in the story, but the apocalypse seems to have started out of nowhere and without any clear origin… at least that’s what everyone believes.
Inspiration: Mushishi, Deltarune, Undertale, The Darkest Minds, Death Note, The Walking Dead.
In 2023, something happened in my life that triggered this story to be created and I like to say I can't explicitly state what that is because it might expose how much of a simp I am. Though that's not important to the story so it's fine staying that way. This story is about three high school seniors who find out their world isn't just the way they assumed it to be. A species known as Monis inhabit the very lands they've grown up in and a certain subset of people can actually sense and tame these monsters. In fact, there's an entire division of people trained to keep these creatures from ever being exposed to the general public. Interested in exploring more of this, the main characters work together to discover all they can about the unknown world they've been living in.
Inspiration: Avatar: The Last Airbender, xxxHolic, Soul Eater, Slayers, Toriko, One Piece, Kekkaishi, Pokemon, Harry Potter, Blue Exorcist.
I happen to love period pieces, especially ones set in either the Medieval ages, the Gothic/Industrial era, or the Renaissance. So, whenever I see a story set in one of these times, I usually get the urge to make a story and that's what this is. Nothing more than my love for the fantastical tales of those times in my own words. In it, there are three characters who represent the wolf, the rabit, and the moon. They are tied together and one of them is more affected by this bond than the others. This story does have a prequel(?) that isn't finished, but it follows the same three characters and their intertwined fates.
Inspiration: The Great Ace Attorney (I promise it's not the attorney part), Black Butler, Slayers, LoZ: Twilight Princess.
The sequel to The Demonic Repentance, this story takes place nearly twenty years after the events of that story. It explores more about my version of Heaven, Hell, and Limbo and develops more about the feelings the previous characters had about their respective worlds. It also explores the conflict of one showing their love by forcing what they believe is best onto them.
Inspiration: Same as The Demonic Repentance
